Hi! I’m Emily,
I am Disabled and proud
My passion for Disability activism started with me learning to advocate for my own rights when faced with the many roadblocks that come with having both physical and mental disabilities. The more I learned, the more I realized that there are major gaps in our understanding of how Disabled people interact with the world. In addition, research in this field is often framed from the neurotypical perspective, which makes much of it biased. I hope to provide a Disabled voice in research to represent and fight for my community.
